I believe in properly funding our public schools to ensure every child in Indiana has access to a high-quality education. While I understand that vouchers can have a place, we must be careful not to divert so much funding from our public schools that we create a system of feast or famine. Strong public education is the foundation of our communities, and it deserves our full support.

As a father of two young children, keeping our kids safe from gun violence in schools is deeply personal to me. While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, I believe it’s essential that we take action now. Indiana's best step forward is to require background checks on private gun sales, ensuring that guns don’t fall into the wrong hands.

Protecting our environment for future generations is a responsibility I take seriously. We must be good stewards of our green spaces and work to preserve our wetlands. The impacts of climate change affect our everyday lives. As we face these challenges, we need to respect and honor our relationship with the planet, ensuring it remains a safe and sustainable place for our children and grandchildren.

I strongly believe that the working class deserves fair and dignified wages. In 2022, nearly half of Indiana's population identified as working class, and their hard work deserves to be valued. Unions play a crucial role in empowering workers, ensuring they have the ability to negotiate for better wages and working conditions. Supporting unions means standing up for the rights of everyday Hoosiers to earn a fair living and provide for their families.

I believe the Statehouse should serve all Hoosiers, especially those who are most vulnerable. Medicaid provides essential healthcare coverage to nearly 2 million low-income Hoosiers—about 1 in 5 residents—and it’s crucial that we protect this lifeline. Everyone deserves access to the healthcare they need, and I will work to ensure Medicaid continues to support those who depend on it for their health and well-being.
